Applications

BFOLDS has many potential applications as an exploratory simulation model in research, land use planning, and policy development in fire-driven landscapes.

• Examining potential for old growth forest
• Exploring consequences of potential climate change on forest practices
• Determining spatial variation in fire return interval
• Examining long term American marten population viability
• Examining the long-term fire regime in a protected area
